Meet Sandy and Dick Dovey
Rooted in the Past, Writing for the Future
Sandra Mae Dovey (also known as Sandy Dovey) is an 80-year-old Wyoming native with deep roots in the state. Raised on her family’s land, just 15 miles from the historic Grant Ranch, Sandy has always felt a strong connection to her heritage. A Journey is her heartfelt tribute to her grandparents, Duncan and Cora Grant, and their legacy of resilience and hard work.
Married for 62 years to her husband, Richard, Sandy is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family and history are central to her life, and she hopes her book inspires others to preserve their own family stories. Along with her writing, Sandy has been involved in local politics and enjoys her passion for old cars.
Through A Journey, Sandy shares the rich history of her family’s migration from Scotland to Wyoming, honoring the values of perseverance, love, and community that have shaped her life.
